Nathan and Freddie were in the gym talking and Freddie asked Nathan why he always wears his hat in the gym. Nathan replied because it gives me the strength of 9 Elephants. Freddie thought that would be a good sportswear brand name and the journey began.

Nathan and Freddie decided that the brand needed to be better than everything out there. So they decided to look at how they could solve issues with current gymwear. The clothing needed to be high performance, durable, truly sustainable, not create plastic pollution, make you feel good when you wore it, and look great, and be made in the UK. Some fairly challenging goals to tie together!

Every brand needs a great logo! We eventually found one we loved and lots we didn’t.

Once we were done faffing about with the logo we had to find the best Fabric. It had to be degradable through biological means, AKA not made of plastic. High performance and as we’d decided to make women’s clothing first, it needed to be squat proof. Our journey took us to the factories of Switzerland where our new fabric was going to be made!

It took lots of R&D and mostly time but we eventually created the right fabric! We couldn’t have done this without Fredy and Climatex! Fredy’s immense wealth of knowledge of C2C fabric producers in Europe and globally is second to none!

Whilst we were developing the fabric, we were working on the designs of the women’s collection and the men’s collection.

Once we’d selected a design, we started to make the first samples. And boy did we make a lot of samples! Thank you Marta, Lesley, James, Alexey, Jo, Fazane, and Catherine!

Meanwhile we had to source all the trims, labels, and sewing threads and they had to be biodegradable as well!

Once we had our first sample size set, it really started to seem a lot more real!

Then we had to do the photoshoot for the website and our social channels!

Meanwhile production of the clothes was now in full swing! Without Lesley, James, Alexey, Jo, Fazane, and Catherine we never would have got to this stage!

Then next thing you know the delivery had arrived and we had more gym clothes than we had storage for! We’d finally done it after all these years!
